LeBron James Is Officially A Billionaire

LeBron Raymone James Sr. nicknamed “King James” is widely considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time. James has won four NBA championships, four NBA MVP awards, four NBA Finals MVP awards, three All-Star MVP awards, and two Olympic gold medals.

Born to a struggling, 16-year-old single mother in Akron, Ohio, James lived with an assortment of family members, friends, neighbors and only dreamed of been able to give his mother and sibliongs a better future.

He currently plays for Los Angeles Lakers and as at last year, thanks to Nike, plus deals with brands like AT&T, PepsiCo and Walmart, he was the second-highest-earning athlete in the world.

After another monster year of earnings–totaling $121.2 million last year–Forbes estimates that James has officially become a billionaire, while still playing basketball.

The 37-year-old superstar has a net worth of $1 billion, by Forbes’ count is the first active NBA player to make the billionaires list.

“It’s my biggest milestone,” James told GQ in a prophetic 2014 interview. “Obviously. I want to maximize my business. And if I happen to get it, if I happen to be a billion-dollar athlete, ho. Hip hip hooray! Oh, my God, I’m gonna be excited.”

James’ basketball career has brought in more than $385 million, according to Forbes, but the lion’s share of his wealth comes from his various business investments and endorsements, including with Nike, Walmart, Beats by Dre, Fenway Park and Liverpool FC, Blaze Pizza chain and others.

LeBron James is more than a basketball player but an astute business man who understands the importance of investments in growing one’s finances. He earns a salary as a basketballer player then invests a bulk of his salary to make more money.

Investments are key to keeping and growing wealth exponentially.
